The decision to start a company from scratch came from my love of this industry and wanting a say in how my clients are treated. Technology was another aspect of focus for this company – Northerneer utilizes the most cutting edge inspection software and gadgets available. This yields the highest quality product for homebuyers and represents the agents referral well.
My background is performing more than 5,000 inspections in the state of Minnesota for lenders (federal banking system), loan underwriters, appraisers, insurance agents/underwriters and with a specialty in commercial buildings and luxury homes. I was also responsible for training all of our onboarding inspectors, state-wide including ongoing training and support. My territory was more than 55,000 square miles and I loved it.
My favorite part of being an inspector in Minnesota is being able to thoughtfully educate clients about the home they already love and are waiting to move into. Showcasing their investment in the report is my passion. Thoroughly and realistically explaining the imperfections takes practice; honesty is key. A perfect home does not exist – A sound and education based investment decision DOES!
